The study was carried out to find the relationship between teachers’ motivation and job satisfaction as a correlate of teachers’ performance in selected secondary schools in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.
Fifty teachers were picked and questioned from five selected secondary school. Chi-square method was used for the analysis of data. The result of the findings showed that money, most especially is the major factor in the motivation of teachers at all levels of educational system; the school authorities do not take into consideration, keenly the needs of teachers’ professionals and personnel needs; there is no relationship between teachers’ job satisfaction and performance in teaching job; there are factors responsible for teachers’ satisfaction and performance. Recommendations were made based on the findings of the study which can develop teachers being motivated and derived satisfaction in bringing out the best performance.
