ABSTRACT
This research was conducted in five secondary schools in Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ajegunle Apapa Lagos state. It involved the students. The aim of the study was to investigate the influence of home environment in the academic performance of students in secondary schools and to determine how far the influence of home environment have been affecting the students in gathering information for this study, in this order forty copies for the students of each school. Two hundred respondents were used to carry out this research work. The data were analysed using percentage and frequencies. The finding of the study showed that financial incapability of the parents, emotional disturbances and stress, lack of privacy for students to study after school hours, lack of motivation and the problem of students selling for their parents after school hours prevent them from performing well in their academic work in school.
