Palm oil effluent is a wastewater generated from palm oil milling activities which requires effective treatment before discharge into water and environmental courses due to its highly polluting properties. The microbial and physiochemical analysis of palm oil mill effluent in Ijebu-North Local Government Area of Ogun State Nigeria were studied using standard procedure techniques. Results of the pH determination showed that palm oil mill effluents is acidic with the pH values ranged between 5.8 and 6.4. Microorganisms recovered from the Palm Oil Mill Effluent are Proteus vulgaris,Staphyloccocusaureus, Bacillus cereus, Klebsiella pneumonia, Psuedomonasaeruginosa, Fusarium, microoccus sp., Candida and Aspergillusniger. These microorganism recovered are not friendly with human environment and it is therefore recommended that palm oil mill effluents need to be properly treated before discharging it to the environment.
