Description

This research examined the predicting values of parental, peer influence and self in school on adolescent career aspiration. Three research hypotheses were tested in the study. The research employed descriptive survey research using questionnaire as the prime instrument. The population for the study consists of 200 students from five secondary schools in Ijebu-North Local Government Area of Ogun State. The findings of the study revealed that there was significant relationship between parental involvement and adolescents’ career aspiration. It showed that there was significant correlation between peer influence and adolescents career aspiration. It also revealed that there was significant relationship between self in school and career aspiration. It was recommended that vocational guidance and counselling service should be rendered in schools, with major objective of identifying and harnessing the potentials of the young adolescents.
