Description

This research investigated the promotion of small scale enterprises and their contribution to the economic growth of Nigeria. Three research hypotheses was raised to guide the study while two research hypotheses were tested. Questionnaire was used to collect information for this study. The questionnaire was administered on ninety respondents using a non-probability sampling techniques and analysed using simple percentage for research questions and chi-square method of analysis to test the hypothesis. The findings of the study of the study revealed that small and medium scale enterprises are strategic to attainment of economic prosperity objective of any government. They hypotheses tested reveals that there is significant contribution of small scale industry on national economy, just as there is significant progress of small scale industries and economy growth. The study therefore recommends that government should ensure proper monitoring and funding of small scale industries in order to identify lope-holes therein so as to enhance the achievement of its objectives on small scale enterprises.
