ABSTRACT

The study investigated the effects of organisational culture on employees performance in Olabisi Onabanjo University. It further highlighted the level of organisational culture in Olabisi Onabanjo University and also determine the level of employee performance in Olabisi Onabanjo University. The study was anchored on Denison’s Model of Culture which posited involvement, consistency, adaptability and mission as key cultural trait. Survey research design was adopted using standard questionnaire as the prime instrument to generate data. Ninety-eight (98) employees were drawn from Olabisi Onabanjo University. Data generated were analysed using descriptive statistics such as simple percentage and inferential statistics such as Regression Analysis. The findings of this study reveals that there was no significant effect of organizational culture on employee performance in Olabisi Onabanjo University. The implication of this is that organisational culture is not really effective in the organisation, likewise the employee performance is low. It was concluded that the type of culture prevailing in an institution has a great bearing on its performance. Among other recommendations is that employees should be involved in most decisions making process to bring about sense of belonging and attachment on the part of the employees to their institutions.
