Description

This research embarked on an assessment of Broadcast Integration programmes focusing of NTA Ijebu-Ode, Nigeria. The study adopted a survey research method. A questionnaire was used to gather information from 92 participant in Ijebu-Ode Axis of Ogun State. The response of the participant were analysed using descriptive statistics. The findings also discovered that NTA Ijebu-Ode air programmes on national integration but mostly in the aftermath of crisis. The study also showed that visual messages of television have a very powerful influence during crisis because most people rely on television during crisis to keep them informed about the situation. The study therefore recommends that television stations should place more emphasis on programmes directed toward uniting the various diverse groups in the state. Also, television stations should from time to time pass messages across to residents of the state on the need to stay united and shun all forms of violent means of setting disputes.
