Description

ABSTRACT
Music is an indispensable commodity of every society, most especially in the African society. Music has strong effects and influence on the community because of the power it commands. “Music”, a cultural heritage brings every member of the society together. Especially, traditional or local songs. Therefore, through traditional songs, social conscience and cultural wisdom are taught to the people. This study analyses the aesthetics in Lexzy’s music. It is also based on analysis of data and interviews which are gathered from the field work, where information is gathered from active participants of Lexzy’s performance.
From our analysis, it can be seen that music plays an integral role in the day- to- day activities of the African people. It also plays an important role in the political, social and moral life of a society.
