Description

This study examined the perceived factors influencing students’ attitude towards the study of physical and health education at senior secondary level in Ijebu-north local government. The study adopted a survey research design using questionnaire as the prime instrument. The population of the study consisted on two hundred and twelve science teachers drawn from fifty three secondary schools in Ijebu-North Local Government Area of Ogun State. The findings of the study revealed that there is significant difference in teachers’ perception of factors affecting students’ attitude towards the study of Physical and Health Education. It showed that there is a significant relationship between availability of sport facilities and students’ attitude towards the study of Physical and Health Education. It also revealed that there is a significant relationship between availability of instructional resources and students’ attitude towards the study of Physical and Health Education. The findings showed that there is a significant difference in perception of PHE/HED teachers and other science teachers on students’ attitude towards the study of Physical and health Education.
