Physical activity and exercise, when undertaken regularly, are highly beneficial for health, and for physical and psychological well-being. Yet, only a minority of sedentary workers in modern society engage in physical exercise at a level compatible with most public health guidelines. Therefore this study was set out to examine gender and demographic factors as motivation intents for participation in physical activities among Olabisi Onabanjo University Staff. Four research hypotheses were tested in the study. The research employed descriptive survey research using questionnaire as the prime instrument to collect data from academic staffs of Olabisi Onabanjo University. The population for the study consists of seventy-seven academic staffs. The findings of the study revealed that there was no significant difference in gender and motivational intents for participating in physical activities among Olabisi Onabanjo University staff. It showed that there was no significant difference in the ages and motivational intents for participation in physical activities among Olabisi Onabanjo University staff. The findings also revealed that there was no significant difference in the marital status and motivational intents for participation in physical activities among Olabisi Onabanjo University staff. It also showed that there was no significant difference in the working experience and motivational intents for participating in physical activities among Olabisi Onabanjo University staff. Consequently, it was recommended that sedentary staffs should be encouraged to participate in physical activities and they should be educated on the importance of physical activities to their health and mental state.
