Description

ABSTRACT
This study investigated the CEO tenure effect and firm innovation of Cadbury Nigeria Plc. It specifically investigated the effect of decentralization on innovation performance; examine the effect of employee involvement on innovation performance and explore the effect of absorptive capacity on innovation performance. The study was anchored on diffusion of innovation theory and disruptive innovation theory. Survey research design was adopted using questionnaire as the prime instrument to generate data. Seventy-six (76) employees were drawn from Cadbury Nigeria Plc. Data generated were analysed using descriptive statistics such as simple percentage and inferential statistics such as Pearson Moment Correlation Coefficient Multiple and Regression Analysis. The findings of this study reveals that there was statistical significant effect of decentralization on innovation performance; there was no significant effect of employee involvement on innovation performance. Lastly, there was significant composite effect of decentralization, employee involvement and absorptive capacity on innovation performance. Among other recommendation is that the CEO of manufacturing firms, especially the ones that have adopted innovation, research and development should endeavour to involve all their employee in innovation process.
