Description

In other to meet the global demand and to sustain the global financial crisis, the Nigeria government adopted the Universal Basic Education programme which was inaugurated in Nigeria in 1999 and made Basic Science and Technology as a subject compulsory from Primary to Junior Secondary level. This study therefore investigated the survey of skills in Basic Science and Technology for Local Technology and Entrepreneurship. One hundred and Twenty Students from four selected secondary schools in Ijebu-North Local Government Area of Ogun State were chosen for this study. The researcher used a well-constructed questionnaire which sought after the perceived principles and skills of the respondents, and also the identification of principles and skills of the respondents. The descriptive research design was used in the study. Three research questionnaire were raised and analysed using mean score at .05 alpha level of significance. All the research question were answered positively. The results of the findings revealed that there are concept and principles in Basic Science and Technology while the students are also aware of the concepts and principles to develop skills for local technology and entrepreneurship in Basic Science and Technology. Base on the results of the findings, some recommendations were made by the researcher.
