ABSTRACT
This study examined internalization strategy and performance of small and mediums scale enterprise a case study of Sewell Pharmaceutical Company. It sought to analyse the effect of product process on performance of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises; to determine the effect of market process on financial performance of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises as well as examine the effect of internationalization strategy on performance of small and medium scale enterprises of Sewell Pharmaceutical Company.
Descriptive survey and qualitative research design was adopted by this study and the target population used in this study comprise one hundred and eighty-nine (189) staff of Sewell Pharmaceutical Limited Data generated through questionnaire was analyzed with the aid of statistical package for social science. Descriptive statistic of simple percentage was used to analysed the demographic data while Linear Regression Analsysi was employed to test the hypotheses.
Findings revealed there was significant effect of product process on performance of small and medium scale enterprises. Result showed that there was no significant effect of market process on financial performance of small and medium scale enterprises. It was found that there was significant effect of internationalization strategy on performance of small and medium scale enterprises.
The study concluded that internationalization strategies have significant effect on performance of SMEs and the implication of this is that internationalization strategies improve the performance of SMEs. It is recommended that firms should produce or procure their products from reliable suppliers who deal on quality products, this will in turn assure the customers of the value for their money.
